2007 data finally
Written by Chris Labbe

Hard to believe it's been a year since I've touched this project!!!  I've finally got the 2007 data imported for your data querying pleasure.  I've also got a verbal commit from Marillee to work on the missing data from pre-2002 Cool.  I'm going to try to get up there during the week before the Leadville craziness ramps up and work on that part of this puzzle.

Got some new query ideas, too.  Maybe I'll get motivated to knock out a few, or clean up the ones that are online already.

Fastest by Age Group

Got a new one linked out there.

It's pretty rough right now.  I'll polish it up another day.  Purpose is to let you pull the top performances by age group ... or all age groups for Men or Women.

Mostly works, except there are serious issues with most of the finishers from 1999.  Apparently I put M7 age groups onto anyone with an age of 0, which most 1999 entries have.

Yet another sub-project of this project.

Splitsville

The more I dig through this data, the more trouble I find ... cleaned up some entries where TL inbound time was the same as TL outbound time.  There could be more entries like this between other checks.  I'm trying to imagine how I can clean it all up.

In the mean time, a constant question about Splits comes up when people talk about this race.  So, there is a new link for 1st 50 vs 2nd 50 for all finishers for all full data years (2002 - 2006 currently).

Here's what you'll learn when you click this link:

1)  no one in those years has come close to even or negative split

2)  best ratio is a 7% loss first half to second half, and this does not belong to Mr. Carpenter

3)  avg decay between 1st half and 2nd half is 33%

So, you can take your target finish time, divide it by 2.33 to get our opening 50 target -- assuming you have an average day Laughing.  For me, 24 / 2.33 = 10.3 ... ack!
